1. How far in advance should we book a San Diego wedding photographer?
Most couples book their San Diego wedding photographer about 8–14 months in advance, especially for peak dates in spring, summer, and fall. If you already have your venue secured, it’s a good idea to reach out early so you we can connect and see if my style and approach really, really connects with you.
2. How many hours of wedding photography do we actually need?
It depends on the flow of your day, but most San Diego weddings typically need between 6–10 hours of coverage. If you want everything documented from getting ready through the dance floor, then my full-day coverage package of 8 hours is usually the best way to capture the story naturally without rushing.
3. Do you help with the wedding day timeline?
Absolutely. As a full time wedding photographer, I’ve seen how timelines play out in real life, not just on paper. I’m happy to help guide your schedule so there’s enough time for portraits, candid moments, and breathing room throughout the day. I’ll be sure to prioritize what is important to you and leave some room so you can be present and spend quality time with your guests.
4. What makes a good location for wedding photos in San Diego?
San Diego has no shortage of incredible backdrops: beaches, cliffs, gardens, and urban spaces. The best location really comes down to light, timing, and how it fits your vibe as a couple. Whether it’s the coastline at sunset or a quiet corner of a park, I help guide you toward spots that feel natural and photograph beautifully. I have so many (too many) suggestions for secret little spots around the city that span well beyond the most popular ones like Balboa Park and Sunset Cliffs.
5. How would you describe your photography style?
My approach is rooted in capturing real moments as they unfold. I focus on candid, natural interactions. Love catching the in-between moments that often mean the most, while also giving just enough direction when needed so you feel comfortable and present. The goal is photos that feel like your day, not something staged or forced.
